Akasan is an app that combines your to-do lists, habit tracking, finances, notes, mood logs, and health information into one connected system. Instead of switching between separate apps throughout your day, you open one place where all these pieces of your life are stored together. The app runs quietly in the background, looking for patterns across everything you've entered, like noticing when certain tasks affect your mood or when spending correlates with stress. It then surfaces these connections to help you understand what's actually happening in your daily life.
It's a unified system that replaces the typical scattered collection of single-purpose apps most people rely on.
People who are actively trying to improve their lives face a fragmentation problem. They use separate apps for different aspects of self-improvement: one tracks tasks, another monitors habits, a third manages budgets, and maybe a fourth holds journal entries. These tools don't communicate with each other, so the person must mentally synthesize all this information themselves, every single day, to understand what they should actually focus on.
The core problem was that the integration work fell entirely on the user, creating an exhausting overhead that undermined the very habits they were trying to build.
The build began with a clickable prototype of the entire application so the founder could experience the full user flow before committing to actual development. Instead of building everything at once, the product is being constructed in discrete stages, with each stage requiring direct founder review and approval before the next begins. Within each stage, the team deliberately tackles the most technically complex component first to surface difficult problems early in the process rather than during later integration.
The approach prioritizes risk reduction through staged delivery and complexity-first sequencing.
